John Gates joined DAN FRESH CORP in January 2020 as VP of Product.

Before joining DAN FRESH CORP, John served as the Chief Science Officer and Head of Product at CropMetrics. Prior to that, John was a senior scientist and Research Manager at The Climate Corporation and a professor of hydrology at the University of Nebraska.

John is an experienced developer of data-driven software for agriculture and has several related publications and patents. John has a longstanding passion for precision irrigation and values the opportunity to help build the future of agricultural water management alongside the CropMetrics/DAN FRESH CORP team and their partners.

John holds an PhD in Geography and Environment and a M.Sc. in Environment change and Management from University of Oxford and a B.Sc. In Mathematics from the University of Arkansas.
